    What we do

     

    We work with a broad range of clients, predominantly pharmaceutical companies, from around the world. Name a pharma company, chances are we’ve worked with them. Most of our work is international, and not just EU5; we regularly conduct research far and wide – from Australia to Japan and back again.

    We conduct all types of research – both qualitative and quantitative, alongside our growing workshop & consultancy offering. Most of our work is ad-hoc, though we also run a few large tracking studies and ongoing programmes of research.

    Typical project topics include market exploration, patient journeys, concept testing and eliciting emotional insights. We also pride ourselves in the additional, added value consultancy we are able to offer alongside our research. Almost all of our studies are focused on prescription drugs and our respondents are mainly doctors or patients.

    We are always keen to try new things in the Health team, and aim to always give anything a go. This innovative spirit means that we rarely do ‘simple’ projects any more.  Most of our work is strategic and we always have multiple workshops ongoing at any one time.

     

    The Role

     

    The role of Quantitative Health Senior Project Manager is to oversee and lead daily management of quantitative market research projects ensuring successful completion against budgets, timings and other variable expectations set against specific projects.  Integral to this role is interacting directly with internal teams of researchers, external suppliers and clients likewise – designing, driving and implementing efficient processes, systems and ways of running accounts.  You will need to plan, mitigate and manage project risks to ensure successful client delivery.  Additionally, you will lead on methodological and sampling recommendations.  Within the team, you will be the best practice expert for the quant methodology, responsible for implementation, adherence and training of junior team members.

    The role will give you broad exposure and visibility within the team and will require you to have ongoing contacts with all research and administrative staff to ensure the success of the initiatives and projects you manage. 

    You will also provide mentoring support to the PM function and be an escalation point whilst ensuring that the project executives and managers are effectively supporting the research function. 

    You will report to Quant Health Project Director.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:

     

    Ø  Act as an expert to support researchers and other project management team members in questions on methodology and technique, sample and market suitability as well as sample logistics.

    Ø  Provide costs for new business proposals and help guide the team on costing and cost efficiency. Cover cost negotiation with suppliers and assist Partners and Research Directors on cost discussions with procurement teams as and when necessary. 

    Ø  Ensuring that the Project Management team has support and guidance.

    Ø  Identify and manage systemic supplier issues in conjunction with other project managers/ executives evoking SLA sanctions when required.

    Ø  Cover full project management; including not just the research team and the suppliers, but also by liaising professionally with clients when applicable and taking a key role in the external facing project team by taking the lead on updating the client on fieldwork.

    Ø  Provide expertise and proactive guidance as to how to be as operationally efficient as possible.

    Ø  Line manage, mentor and develop project management staff whilst ensuring the workload of the department is addressed and work/life balance of team is monitored.

    Ø  Keep up to date with relevant regulations, codes of conduct and ensure that all client pharmacovigilance procedures are adhered to by both the Project Management and the Research team.

    Ø  Ability to liaise professionally with clients, including taking a key role in status meetings, updating the client on fieldwork, timelines, deliverables, etc.

    Qualifications

    Experience and skills needed for the role:

     

    The role combines strong communication skills, coordination as well as negotiation skills, it requires you to be forward planning, solution focussed and have an ability to continually want to reach the goals of the clients and the team.  More specifically:

    Ø  5+ experience in the domain of project management in a quantitative market research environment, managing end to end project life cycle with multi market and complex studies

    Ø  Experience of line management of other project management team members.

    Ø  Be able to cover for the Project Director during planned or unplanned absence.

    Ø  Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence others within areas of responsibility.

    Ø  Ability to manage multiple projects at a time while sticking to deadlines and achieving high quality of output.

    Ø  Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and project and time management.

    Ø  Familiar with multiple types of studies; Communication testing, Ethnography, Patient Journey, Workshops etc.  

    Ø  Experienced working with a range of research techniques. 

    Ø  Ability to champion methodological choices with clients and teammates and identify potential pitfalls in clients’ briefs/requests and question those.

    Ø  Previous experience implementing best practice processes within an organisation.

    Ø  Significant experience of and comfort with managing fieldwork suppliers.
