    Overview

    This is a leadership role and as such we would expect you to help set and implement the vision and strategy for operations. You will form part of the Global Operations team.

     

    In this role you will have overall responsibility for making Hall & Partners UK consumer operations as effective as possible; this includes both Consumer Qualitative and Quantitative operations. This covers the company best practices, processes and standards, managing suppliers and the project management team in terms of delivery, quality and cost effectiveness, and supporting new products, platforms and tools as they are developed.

     

    You will report to the Global Operations Director and work in close partnership with the other leaders of the UK consumer business as well as the Operations Director US.

     

    The role will give you broad exposure and visibility within the company and will require you to have ongoing contacts with all research and operations staff.

     

    The Role

    You will have overall responsibility for Hall & Partners UK consumer operations; managing our operational structure, systems, processes and operations team and seeking ways to drive through efficiencies and cost savings through the business.

    You will mentor the operation team to have a ‘can do’ and take responsibility attitude. You will also develop the team to be well positioned to deliver UK Consumers strategy.

     

    Currently, we see there being the following key parts to the role:

    1. Improving effectiveness and best practice of operations.
    2. Managing and developing supplier relationships.
    3. Being responsible for managing the H&P field offering.
    4. Improving the quality of our research processes and maintaining accreditation with statutory bodies (Global ISO).
    5. Supporting the Global operations teams for new product development, innovation and visualization.
    6. Overall management of the Operations team.
    7. Work very closely with the UK research teams to define and implement the changing role of the Operations team.
    8. Play a leading role in supporting the research teams to win big pitches.

    Responsibilities

    Specific areas of responsibility

    1. Improving effectiveness and best practice of operations

     

    Working with the teams to continuously review, systems and project management process.

    Implementing new platforms and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, which will include, data management systems, internal tools (such as costing, timesheets, workflow management, etc.) and other systems as agreed with the Global Operations Director

    Consulting for the research directors when pitching particularly for large accounts on the best way to run these operationally and ideas to improve our offering.

    1. Managing and developing supplier relationships

     

    Implement the standard for suppliers’ service level agreements and ensure that the team holds suppliers accountable to this. Be responsible for driving on-time delivery of research and reducing the number of errors in the current process.

    Working with suppliers and the research teams to ensure we get consistently better service.

    Working with suppliers to ensure we are getting optimal pricing and identify areas where discounts/global deals would be beneficial to Hall & Partners.

    1. Being responsible for managing the H&P field offering

     

    Managing the H&P qualitative field team; - checking that our costings are high quality and competitive, that the offer and approach is sound and market leading and that the team is structured well to support the H&P research team and external clients.

    Working with other Operations Directors (Health and Consumer) and the Global Head of Qualitative, ensure that Global Qual projects make the maximum and efficient use of internal teams.

    Contributing to the development and management of other potential H&P field services including communities.

    1. Improving the quality of our research processes and maintaining accreditation with statutory bodies (Global ISO).

     

    Leading the current UK ops teams to set up and implement the best practice initiative that is the current focus across all offices.

    Leading the accreditation and integration of ISO practices and systems into the business and making sure these are implemented and adhered to.

    Implementing continuous improvement to achieve world class levels of quality.

    Ensuring all areas of Personal Information are secure and adhere to the MRS Code of Conduct and GDPR

    1. Supporting the operations for new product development, innovation and visualization

    Managing the operations, suppliers and processes for new H&P products, tools and techniques. This includes new data and visualization tools and the integration of different research data for clients.

    Innovating within the sphere of company operations - maintaining competitiveness, seeking out new opportunities and suppliers. Keeping up to date with the latest operational developments, competitor offerings and seeking ways to be more efficient with technology and techniques.

    1. Overall management of the Operations team.

     

    Responsible for managing, mentoring and development of the Operations team (Project Directors, Managers and Coordinators) to both deliver on current requirements as well as strategic.

    Ensure the entire operations team works well together as part of the Global team to support the research teams.

    1. Work very closely with the research teams to define and implement the changing role of the Operations team

     

    The operations teams need to evolve to reflect the current needs and future strategy of the UK consumer research teams. You will be required to work in conjunction with the UK consumer partners to help define these changes and implement them.

    This will involve balancing workloads and priorities to deliver legacy projects while supporting the new way of working.

    1. Play a leading role in supporting the research teams to win big pitches.

     

    You will play a leading role when Hall & Partners pitch for new business, supporting the research teams to deliver the best possible client proposal in relation to operations.

    Skills and Experience

    Extensive experience working in market research operations or project management functions, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

     

    Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and project and time management.

     

    Confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated.

     

    Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. A communicator who has real gravitas and charisma with clients and people.

     

    Good presentation and negotiation skills.

     

    Solid understanding of research and analytics and how to apply them.

     

    A friendly, positive, professional attitude; able to work independently with strong leadership skills and across multiple teams.

     

    Commercially astute, able to create and manage budgets.

     

    Has a presence around the office; looks for ways to interact with other teams and departments within Hall & Partners
